1998年 北九州にてSHOGOのわがままにより結成。
2001年インディーズで初のCDをリリースしオリコンインディーズチャート1位を記録。
続いてリリースされた1st Albumがオリコンチャート6位（インディーズチャート1位）を記録し、インディーズシーンに頭角を表し始める。
2003年シングル「ハッピーライフ」でメジャーデビュー！
同年4月にリリースした「空に唄えば」共にオリコン初登場1位という日本のロックバンド初となる快挙を成し遂げ、デビュー直後に行われた渋谷・代々木公園フリーライブでは25000人の観客が集まり話題に！
その年の大晦日にはNHK紅白歌合戦に出場。
2004年には初の日本武道館公演を開催。
2007年10周年目突入を記念した初のベストアルバム「サンキュー・フォー・ザ・ミュージック」をリリースし全都道府県TOURを敢行！初の海外公演（韓国）も開催。
2010年2月バンド史上最長・最大曲数を収録したフルアルバム「JAPON」をリリースし年内のライブ活動をもって無期限の活動休止を発表。

2016年12月、6年間の休止期間を経て活動再開！
2017年には７年振りとなるフルアルバム「GET UP YOUTH！」をリリース。

「活動祭開！青き春の野音」と題し日比谷野外大音楽堂、大阪城野外音楽堂にてワンマンライブを開催。

2018年10月 結成20周年記念オールタイムベスト 175R BEST「ANNIVERSARY 1998-2018」をリリース。
2023年には175R 結成25周年TOUR 「Song for tomorrow ! 2023」を東名阪福で開催。

結成26年を過ぎた現在もサポートメンバーを加え、フェスやイベント出演などマイペースに活動を続けている。




175R is Japanese rock band from Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, formed in 1998.

In 2001, they released 1st Album and single, and their name became very　popular in the independent music scene in Japan.
On their major debut single "HAPPY LIFE" and the second single "SORA NI UTAEBA"in 2003, both singles got 1st sales ranking on Oricon chart, and their name got spread out throughout Japan.
Just after their major debut, 175R played the free live gig at Yoyogi park in Tokyo, and there were over 25,000 fans appeared to see their performance.
In the same year they were chosen as the support band for SUM41's Japan Tour.
On new year's eve in 2003, they played on NHK new year music festival "Kouhaku utagassen", Red and White music festival.
In 2004, they played at Nihon-budoukan, where Shogo has always dreamed to play.
In 2007, they released their Best album "Thank you for the music" for their10 years debut anniversary.
In 2008, they played at all 47 Japanese prefectures, and they also played for the first time in Korea.
In 2010, after they released their album 'JAPON', they decided to suspend their band activities for an indefinite period, to improve each members skills.
In total, they released 7 albums, 18 singles, and 5 DVDs.

In 2016, 175R is Back!!

On April 5, 2017, we released the first album "GET UP YOUTH!" In 7 years.

In 2018, 20th Anniversary Memorial All Time Best 175 R BEST "ANNIVERSARY 1998-2018" released.

In 2023, 175R will hold their 25th anniversary tour "Song for tomorrow! 2023" in Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

Even now, after 26 years of formation, he continues to perform activities at his own pace, such as performing at festivals and events, with the addition of support members.
